
Lichtblock® Uno 2 red light lamp
Our Lichtblock® Uno is used by numerous professional athletes in Germany. Especially when used as a background light when traveling or as a tool for regeneration, many athletes report positive experiences. But many of our customers also use modern red and near-infrared light in normal everyday life - whether in families or companies - to increase their well-being.
The most important thing: this red light is used
In our own experience, large panels often disappear into the basement and are simply not used. We are amazed at the creativity of our customers when it comes to integrating red light into their everyday lives.
What is the difference to the tried-and-tested warm red light lamp?
Our Lichtblock is not a heat lampas you know it from physiotherapy practices or as a household remedy for colds or tension. Heat lamps are all about the thermal or warming effect produced by a filament. Our Lichtblock uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs), i.e. cold light, and works with very specific wavelengths to achieve an effect.
What effect does red light have in nature?
As with photosynthesis in a plant, there are also certain enzymes in the human body, called chromophores, which can absorb photons from certain wavelengths. These enzymes are found in our mitochondria, which are the power plants of the cell. We can think of it like a solar system on the roof of a house, where light energy is converted into electricity. The same thing happens in the human body when red and near-infrared light hits the body.
It has been found that there is a specific window between 600 and 1100 nm where light can have a particular effect on the mitochondria. It has been shown that red light has an effect on superficial skin structures and near-infrared light penetrates the skin deeper and can have an effect on deeper tissue and circulation.
It was long thought that a laser was needed for the described effect. However, it is now known that LEDs can achieve the same effect. There are now numerous studies and articles in a wide variety of fields that show that modern red light has a promising future.
Power light
At the Lichtblock you have the choice between two light modes: In power light mode, all lamps in the light block are switched on and emit four different wavelengths from the red light and near-infrared light range.


Ambient light
You can use the ambient mode to create atmospheric evening lighting in your home. The combination with a candle is particularly beautiful. You can turn down other lighting that could wake you up and relax better.
Red light is particularly suitable for bridging the sunless winter months, but also for people who spend a lot of time indoors. Our red light uses light with wavelengths of 630, 660, 810 and 850 nm.

Breaks
After the power light mode, wait about 24 hours before irradiating the same area with power light.
Tips
Especially at the beginning, we recommend halving the duration to get your body used to the red light.
The power light should ideally be used during the day, i.e. between sunrise and sunset, and at least 2 hours before going to bed.
Application: Ambient light
The ambient light is ideally used after sunset as a replacement for conventional lighting to prepare you for the night.
